A: Yes, we moved all of the information and contact forms over to our new website, and updated any outdated information in the process. Q: Are all of my bookmarked pages going to be the same? A: Some of links that you have saved to individual pages in the browser on your computer or phone may not work, so yo may need to re-save those. Public Notice - Lee Rd. 106 The Lee County Highway Department will be closing Lee Road 106 to through traffic due to roadway repair work. Tuesday, September 22 through Thursday, September 24, 2026, beginning at 7:30 A.M. and ending at 4:00 P.M. Central Standard Time, Lee Road 106 will be closed to through traffic due to roadway repair work. Crews will be actively working during the day to perform maintenance on the roadway. Due to the narrow width of the roadway, through traffic will not be allowed to travel along the roadway while the maintenance work is being performed; however, the roadway will be reopened by 4:00 P.M each day. Lee Road 106 will also be closed to through traffic from 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., on Monday, September 28 through Thursday, October 1, 2026. The roadway will be open to all traffic outside of the working hours listed above. Contact the Lee County Highway Department at (334) 737-7011 regarding any questions or concerns.

The annual “Ride to Remember” Memorial Ride honoring Lee County Deputy James Anderson is coming up this Sunday, September 20. The ride will begin at 3pm EST in the parking lot of Smiths Station Jr. High and end at Garden Hill Cemetery in Opelika, where a memorial wreath will be placed at Deputy Anderson’s final resting place. On September 15, 2026, at approximately 3:42 AM, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a male subject stating that he had been shot multiple times by his wife. Lee County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene at the residence located in the 100 block of Lee Road 224 in Smiths Station and located the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect was not on scene at the time. The victim was transported by ambulance to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, GA, where he is being treated for his injuries. The female suspect was located and taken into custody at a convenience store not far from the residence where the shooting occurred. She was transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for questioning. The initial investigation indicates the suspect may be suffering from mental health issues. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 334-749-5651 or Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP (7867).
