LEE COUNTY (August 22, 2025) – On August 20 at approximately 8:22pm CDT, Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 8000 block of US Hwy 29 N. in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, deputies met with the victim who stated that he was texting with a female and was supposed to meet her at the residence. When he arrived, he was met at the front door by an individual wielding a knife and a pair of brass knuckles. The suspect demanded money. When the suspect found out that there was no money, he took the victim’s shoes, necklace, and ring.
Lee County Investigators arrived at the scene and were able to secure a search warrant for the residence. During the search, Jerrick Landon Hamby (20) from Cusseta, AL, was found hiding in the attic. Hamby was taken into custody. The knife, brass knuckles and all of the victim’s property were recovered from inside of the residence.
Hamby was arrested and charged with Robbery First Degree. He is being held in the Lee County Detention Center with no bond.
