LEE COUNTY (June 9, 2025) – A approximately 6:58 AM CDT on June 9, 2025, Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) received a 9-1-1 call. LCSO Communications Officers were able to hear what sounded like a female in distress from what appeared to be a sexual assault that was occurring at the time. The female caller did not speak to Communications Officers on the call, but the line was open. Cell phone location confirmed that the assault was taking place in the 800 block of Lee Rd. 272, in the Cusseta community of Lee County.
Lee County Deputies arrived on the scene at approximately 7:06 AM and immediately detained Topciciain Lopez Vaughn (49) of Cusseta. Evidence at the scene indicated that a sexual assault had occurred. Vaughn was transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, where he was arrested and charged with one count of Sodomy First Degree. He is being held in the Lee County Jail with no bond, awaiting an Aniah’s Law hearing.
