LEE COUNTY (October 1, 2025) – On September 30, 2025, at approximately 4:56pm CDT, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a structure fire in the 8100 block of Lee Road 252, in the Beulah community of Lee County. The caller advised that she believed her friend (roommate) and a small dog were inside of the residence.
Deputies and members of the Beulah Fire Department arrived on scene and observed heavy black smoke coming from one end of a single wide mobile home. Members of the Beulah Fire Department entered the residence and located an unresponsive female, later identified as Kasey Nichole Hartley (34) unresponsive and not breathing. Members of the fire department carried the victim out of the residence where Deputies and fire personnel attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful. The victim’s body will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for a postmortem examination. This case is still under investigation by Lee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office.
