The Lee County Sheriff’s Office works with the Office of Professional & Continuing Education at Auburn University to teach a handgun safety course at various times throughout the year. This course is an excellent opportunity to learn about safe handgun handling and ownership.
These courses are taught by David George and Sheriff Jay Jones. The fee for this course is $109 and includes hearing protection, eye protection, and range costs. You do not need to own a firearm to attend. Information about permits and different types of firearms will be provided as part of the class. The first two sessions are taught at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Saturday’s session will be at a range, and the location will be provided during class.
